All a Buzz at Allihies Coastal Education Hub

Allihies Coastal Education Hub is run by Sykoni who was born in Allihies. It’s upstairs at the Copper Mines Museum, it was a buzzing hive of activity yesterday; https://aceh.ie/
Bob Christie makes plant-based Artisan Vegan Cheese. He gave an entertaining and relaxed talk and demonstration. He’s a experienced chef and now has perfected a flavoursome, dairy free, plant-based artisan vegan cheese. He makes cheese himself and his packages of dry ingredients are flying off the shelves in wholefood shops throughout ireland. More about Bob and his products here; http://littlegreenleaf.ie/

Sykoni herself showed scone making with added tasty seaweed and also showed us how easy it is to make a delicious pesto from wild garlic and sorrel. We also saw and tasted how to incorporate nutritional seaweed into baking and which seaweeds to look for at the tide line in Beara. http://www.seaweedcistin.com/
