Welcome to Allihies Coastal Education Hub where learning is the essence of life; a place where creative ideas are nourished and explored.

Allihies Coastal Education Hub is the place to be. The Enterprise Day Event was developed to provide a space for experienced and budding entrepreneurs to share their stories with those of you who are mulling over a creative business idea. The purpose of this event is to highlight the practical steps of setting up your own business and promote support networks that are available to you.

The Hub is where such ideas can progress to the next stage. Local business people are invited to talk about their own professional journey from inception to operation. Speakers focus on presenting their own experience in addition to imparting practical skills, insights, and attendee engagement. Furthermore, presenters provide insights into their own journey giving realistic views of the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. Speakers point out that failure is part of success; it brings resilience. And, oftentimes, can turn obstacles into opportunities.

The Local Enterprise Office (LEO) and Department of Social Protection equally partake in such an educational initiative whereby attendees leave feeling equipped with an awareness of the support systems available to them.

We also engage with Transition Year (TY) Students from Beara Community School. The Enterprise Day event focuses on inspiring young people to equip themselves with practical information for self-employment.

The event also highlights the importance of local community connections. Exploring what people need in the area. Starting with a problem, rather than merely an idea. Attendees are encouraged to be aware of their environment and observe gaps in the market. Speakers advise taking practical steps towards testing their ideas and learning through experience.
