Ballydonegan beach, just below Allihies, was created by crushed quartz sand that was washed down to Ballydonegan from the dressing processes that removed the copper from the crushed ore at the mines. This stunning beach is a great fishing spot for bass, coalfish, cod, dogfish, flounder, pollock and turbot.
This beach is great for walking, sun bathing, diving, boating and kayaking. Amenities close to the beach include public toilets, wheelchair access, parking and a caravan/camping site.
