Cathy has been living in Beara for over 20 years, where she came to raise her family. Her paintings are somehow both abstract and figurative , with a dream- like mistiness, lending an air of mystery obscureness to the work and leaving the viewer to search for what the image might be at the heart of the painting. The paintings are gestural and dynamic, capturing the feelings of a moment in visual tones- tone poems, visualisations of heart- hunting, soul- searching to become one’s own anam cara.
‘The end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.”
