Nothing says summer like homemade ice cream — and this Friday 14th August, you can learn to make it yourself at the Allihies Copper Mine Museum at the Coastal Education Hub, from 10am (sharp) to 11am.

This workshop focuses on express ice-cream making — quick methods, the right ingredients, and the appliances you actually need at home. It’s all built around alternative and nutritive solutions, so every recipe shown is plant-based, refined sugar-free, and gluten-free.

What to expect

  • How to make express ice-cream at home
  • What ingredients to use for a healthier treat
  • What appliances are required
  • Live demonstrations, tastings, handouts and a Q&A session

Whether you’re catering to dietary restrictions or just want a lighter, more nutritious dessert option, this session will give you everything you need to start making ice cream at home with confidence.

Booking is essential — a minimum of 6 people is needed for the workshop to go ahead. Call 086 346 5547 before 12th August to reserve your place. Entry is €20, cash at the door.
